KHATAMI LEAVES THE CASPIAN SUMMIT, SUFFERING HEART ATTACK

ESHQABAD 23 Apr.    Iranian President Mohammad Khatami was rushed to a hospital here in the Turkmen capital of Eghqabad after he suffered a heart attack during the opening ceremonies of the Caspian Sea Summit.

Sources at the conference said the Iranian president left the conference not in protest, but because he felt ill and was taken to a hospital for first treatments.

It is not known whether Mr. Khatami, who was supposed to travel to other Central Asian nations would go back to Tehran. ENDS KHATAMI CASPIAN SUMMIT 23402
